IOS Spring Show and Exhibition 2025
The first Spring Show in seven years of the Irish Orchid Society was held on the first weekend in March 2025. It was held in the Gallery of the Visitor and Education Centre at The National Botanic Gardens.
This was a wonderful location for the show and exhibition.
The show included an exhibition of botanic art and items from the National Botanic Gardens Library archive. Several pieces of art were loaned by Susan Sex and Deborah Lambkin.
Over the two days there were two talks and two workshops; a talk by Challen Willemsen which went through the orchids of the Neotropics, a talk authored by Brendan Sayers and given by David Morse on Ireland’s Wild Orchids.
The workshops included one on successful orchid culture in the home and the other was a surgery with a question and answer session.
Lastly there was a wonderful table show of orchids from member’s own collections which were judged.
