The first in-person meeting of 2024 was held in our usual location, the Lecture Theatre at the National Botanic Gardens visitor centre.
A very well attended evening with 20 members attending in-person and a further 10 people joined the evening online.
The evening began with a potting demonstration from Chair Marie Therese Hourigan; following this Deputy Chair David Morse discussed the May Weekend trip to the UK, after this a raffle was held for a great collection of orchids.
Potting Demonstration
Marie presented a wonderful and well-received live potting demonstration full of tips and good advice about trimming the roots, compost mixes and ingredients, and how to test if an orchid has been potted correctly.
May Trip

Raffle and Compost Sale
We had a great raffle with lots of wonderful orchids to win. There was also coir and bark to purchase. In all the raffle and compost sales raised €165.
