      Hi everyone!

Here are a couple of pictures of some of my plants currently in flower…My very first orchid, the ONE that started my crazy orchid obsession…Nearly killed this plant and the recovery was a long one…I waited 4 years for the blooms…:)

The other one is a recent purchase, only have it since last November/Christmas…It is a huge Phalaenopsis Liodoro, flowering from 2 spikes…A lovely plant with amazing flowers and great scent…

      Hi Eszter,
Love the colouring of the new Phalaenopsis. Where did you get this? Didn’t know they could have a scent!

        Hi Lisa!

Apologies for late reply, I think I forgot to turn on the notifications…

Yes, many of the Phalaenopsis species are scented, I got many, but not as big as the Liodoro on the pictures…The complex hybrids everyone can buy in the flower shops usually lost their scent, but there are a few scented one…

Liodoro is a primary hybrid of Phal species, and it has a sweet lemony scent…I have 3 of them, one is not in flower now, the other two are slightly different re colour and strenght of scent.

Parentage of Phalaenopsis Liodoro:Phalaenopsis Deventeriana X Phalaenopsis violacea
(Phalaenopsis Deventeriana: phalaenopsis amabilis x phalaenopsis amboinensis)…though there is a heated discussion on some of the orchid forums that Phal aphrodite was used instead of the amabilis to create the pod parent of Deventeriana…I have no idea to be honest, the end result is really beautiful!

I will post a few pictures of my scented phals later today, just need to find them…

Oh, I got the Liodoro from orchidgarden.co.uk when they had an auction on eBay…There were a good few for sale at the orchid fair (38e) as well, though the ones I got are much bigger…I was trying to downsize a bit as I am rapidly running out of space, please let me know if you would like one…not sure if it is permitted though here on the forum…I was looking for 25e for one or might be swap for something interesting…

Thank you so much, Íde! Liodoro is one of my favourit Phalaenopsis to this date…I do have a few young plants, primary hybrids and species I yet to see bloom, but for it’s bloom size, colors and scent Liodoro is in my top 10!

        Kind regards

        Eszter
